AAOLEV / OEAP Annual Meeting Outcomes

The association also voted for the first time to create a membership category for accredited EVCs who have been trained by an accredited EVC training provider. Further details of this exciting new membership category will be forthcoming over future months and Handsam Ltd will advise clients of how to take up membership once this has been clarified and ratified by the new AAOLEV executives and trustees.

As an accredited OEAP member, Handsam Ltd's Managing Director Simon Lowe attended the OEAP annual general meeting in October in which the association voted to change its legal status to a charity and change its name. OEAP is therefore now known as AAOLEV - the Association of Advisers on Outdoor Learning and Educational Visits in order to reflect its members expertise in all types of school trips and visits not just adventurous ones.

Please note that the DfE guidance on trips and visits recommends that EVCs undertake accredited training via an AAOLEV / OEAP accredited trainer. Handsam Ltd offer this formal training to AAOLEV standards for both full EVC training (1-day course) and refresher EVC training (half-day course).

It is also worth noting that no online training course (aside from those led live in-person) are accredited or ever will be by AAOLEV / OEAP and that Evolve is no longer an accredited AAOLEV / OEAP training provider.
